Bar Signs

Cute Signs that we made for the Bar(s). So now because we have so many people crashing...er, attending our wedding we have 35 tables instead of 20. And also we now have a bar upstairs and a bar downstairs. Signs say Cheers, Salud (Spanish), and Mabuhay (In Filipino)!

Necklace for sure.

After careful deliberation and checking out your comments I have decided to choose a slightly modified necklace from etsy. I love the color and volume of this necklace and without the extra length I think it will be more flattering with my dress!

Porange DIY Boxes

Adorable Porange Boxes provided by Sissy BM. Two of these towers will grace our gift table so people are directed to leave our gifts (Which I still can't believe that people are going to get us stuff, awesome!)

One of the boxes has been turned into our envelope box. P's mom has apparently told all of her family to give us money instead of gifts. I thought it was hysterical that P's uncle called her and told her he had bought a gift for us and she told him to go and return it and write us a check instead!

These Chinese take out boxes are a quart each and are to be used to take home candy from the candy bar table. They have a P on one side and an R on the other, the font is the cutest font that Bakey BM found.

Rosa Rosa Rosas

Researching DIY Bouquets for the wedding has convinced me that keeping it simple is the best way to ensure blooming success. One color, one flower, one shape. BM's will have the creamy white Vandela roses tied with fuchsia or orange satin ribbon and I will have the bi color circus roses. I loved the following bouquets for the bright vivid color and simple ribbons tying them.

BrideAttack made the mistake of letting us pick out our BM dresses. She should've gone with this etsy seller: avantgarb.
fashionista!!

dood, that's the site that I bought from for Burning Man.
Its so 2020. No one will see it coming.

If these girls weren't already my best friends I would go out and search them out, stalk them, and then MAKE them be my BFF's.

Pinwheels as namecards?

Bakey BM has the dubious honor of being my resident go to person when it comes to all things DIY. (Or in this case, Do It Someone Else) Naturally I sent her a Martha Stewart inspiration project email featuring pinwheels. I really like the look of them, its a fun way to further incorporate our colors and they feel playful and low key, hopefully fitting in with the rest of our wedding.

Bakey BM exhibited her genius by coming up with the idea of instead of using sticks to put the dowels in, the handle of the pinwheel could be a pencil with our names on it! CUTE! And useful! And know I saw this picture and think it might be a good way to use the pinwheels as escort name cards. Hot or not?

Potential Pillows.

From Etsy vendor idotakeu, an example of what my pillows MAY look like. Like I said, I love the element of surprise in my wedding, from the BM's attire to my favors and now with the ring pillows, all of those unknowns are making the wedding anticipiation grow to crazy porportions.

Garters. hot or not?

OK, so that is not really the question. Garters in my estimation are yes, always hot. And they can be cute too. BUT, the real question is whether or not I will personally be rocking one where it can be seen by my wedding guests. On some level, I love traditions and the hilarity that can ensue when they are followed. But in a deeper place, I sort of hate dated sexist ideas and think they probably don't need to be followed at my wedding. Plus, P putting his hand up my dress in front of our friends and family just CREEPS me out to no end!!

Still under consideration is wearing a garter, this adorable one sent to my by GRE BM* is created by Etsy vendor, GartersByKrisi.

* GRE BM is going to rock the GRE like it's her J-O-B on Saturday! BEST of luck!!

I love you, my Maid.

I'm so lucky to have both a M(aid)OH and a M(atron)OH. They are both amazing friends and actually more like my family members. They have split duties for helping me with the wedding. Stats BM (Maid of Honor) is in charge of coordinating the bridal party and to help with that she created this fabulous idea board on polyvore. It has been great seeing all my ideas in one place and the porange dress scheme illustrated. Awesome,no?

FUCHSIA!

Besides being notoriously difficult to spell, Fuchsia, is ubiquitous in fashion right now. Pointed out by BakeyBM last week at the website www.style.com/community/lookoftheday (3/20/09-in the archive) and further evidenced by the windows at Neiman Marcus near Union Square.
