Family Arboles

So my Granny passed away a few days ago and her funeral was this past weekend. She was almost 90 and living in a nursing home and was completely out of it so it's a sweet release. She was my last living grandparent so naturally by thoughts have been turning to family and our history. I think that next year I will focus on a little genealogy research and when I have some info I will convert it into an awesome heirloom.

Design Sponge recently featured these beautiful and modern family trees that are totally mantle and display worthy.

Importing your Bridal Party

AKA, when you have lots and lots of family who lives in another country. And maybe it's important to add countries where it is semi to very difficult to come to the USA, even if it is for your cousin's wedding.

Please greet pretty much all of my Colombian cousins, I think only one boy cousin is missing. Out of all of them maybe only 2 might be able to get Visas to travel to the US. Does not mean that they are not all trying, it's just that they are young and eager and the Colombian Embassy is afraid they will come over and stay forever.

P also has a cousin who really really really wants to come to the US too and therefore last week we had to trump up a fake invite to send her (fake because we aren't really ready to send them all out yet) and ask her to be part of the wedding party. Please welcome our new candle lighter; P's cousin who we have never met. As you can see the wedding is becoming larger bit by bit and on an international scale...Ha!

Thank you, Friday. This weekend I will make some more invites to Fed Ex to people in foreign countries. They will be added to arsenal of documents that are carted along to take to an interview at an embassy where some faceless official gets to decide how many more guests P and I have at our wedding.

I love big families and I love P.
