Unfair?

To struggle with freaking out at my vendors? So, I had very sweet experiences with most of my vendors. I felt like they cared about my wedding, worked hard to deliver the services that we hired them for, and for the most part became friends. So....fast forward to not quite a month after the wedding and now I am thinking that being friends with a vendor might be a major mistake!

My videographer (a friend through my job) was super reasonable, nice, and responsive. And I still do not have a video, or even a sneak peek! And he is by Facebook friend and I can see on his status that today he is working on a manuscript...NOT MY VIDEO.

The photographer who shot my BM's in our vintage inspired photo shoot is a new friend, someone who I felt I really hit it off with and is full of great ideas, an entrepreneur and pioneer. Also, someone who has texted me, emailed, and is a FB friend. She eloped to San Francisco City Hall last week and is now a newly wed. How rude is it to write to her and say, Congrats on your wedding, I want my photos NOW?

And honestly, if I even get into Jerry Yoon and how badly I would like just ONE PICTURE of my wedding, I might have a conniption. So, I will just ask, "Can you please, please, post ONE photo, or at least send me an email letting me know when they might possibly happen?" That's not too crazy right?

Monday makes me a meanie, so I had to post this as "please please do not happen at my wedding". There is very little that I love about this wedding shot, most of all that it looks like a scene out of a John Hughes movie (1989) but really took place a couple of months ago. (I stole it off a friend's FB!!). The corsages, the goth lipstick on all the girls and why is she wearing a CROWN??!? We know, its YOUR big day! I'm trying to get over this (my work bff even brought be a chocolate eclair from beard papa) but it's hard.

Although P and I hired Jerry Yoon because we really liked his photo journalistic and candid style, we of course have to have some traditional posed photos. I know that these are the ones that our folks will probably like the most and that will get framed and sit in a place of honor on our baby grand piano (hey, a girl can dream right?). The secret is finding a posed picture that isn't too cheesy and can feel natural. I liked these pictures as examples of what we might do for our more formal shots with the wedding party.

Bridesmaid Photo Shoot

I can already tell from our 2 engagement parties that there is really not enough time to see everyone you want to and have quality time with them during the wedding. Everything seems to go by in a flash (a very fun flash) and you are left with a big blur of the night. I am counting on my wonderful photographer, Jerry Yoon (www.blogjerry.com) to help capture and keep our wedding in focus. To have excellent photos I think it's important to be natural but there is some planning that has to happen if you have specific images in mind. And to that end, of course, I must watch America's Next Top Model (Yes, I can "Smile with my Eyes", Thanks Tyra!) every week and read blogs and mags for inspiration. I have just started thinking about my engagement shoot with P that we are planning in a few months and that is really challenging. I want something that is really beautiful but that also represents our real life and how we live as a couple.

There will be a ton of photos of P and me but I am starting to think about all the people I want to capture during our big day. My bridesmaids are all photogenic and I have become really excited about the idea of doing a photo shoot with my BM crew before the wedding. Something evocative of travel and basically a chance to hang out together for a warm day and get a bit dressed up. I have also started looking for inspiration and I am LOVING these photos by Corrie Bond (http://www.2c.com.au/artist.cfm?ArtistID=43) and am thinking of sort of vintagey, picnicky, outdoorsy, travel thing with the chicas.







I already have some ideas of country roads that we could use, and a friend with an old(ish) Chevy Impala, a weenie dog, and a thrift store that sells cool old luggage.
