I have not sent out Thank yous, but I am loving my gifts!

I am so excited to finally be able to start using some of the GORGEOUS gifts that we received from our wedding. I know this will sound funny, but I am continually surprised by all the gifts we received. I know I should not in the least be at all surprised because after all we registered for them, but still, our guests were AMAZING! So generous and wonderful to give us these totally beautiful things.

One of my favorite gifts is the trifle bowl that we received from our dear friend Rachel Teannalach - check her out at her website. Aside from being an amazing artist whose art graces 3 walls of my home (we really like her stuff!) she is also a great cook with a wicked sense of humor. A big joke we had going into my wedding is that when she got married she planned her wedding very quickly and had no time to register for gifts. Her guests did not really know what to get her so every one's default gift was a bowl! I am ashamed to admit, even me! Some nice huge salad bowl, but still... she ended up with like 20 bowls and toaster or something ridiculous. So when it was my turn to get married, guess what she got me? Clearly, she was bound to get me a bowl, this one was off my registry but still it gave me a fit of giggles to open it.

I am totally inspired to find some fabulous trifle recipe and start owning this dessert.
